Getty Community Engagements Across Los Angeles County

Since 2022, Getty has made a concerted effort to come down off the hill and out into Los Angeles’ most underserved neighborhoods. Its continued engagement with these communities builds long-lasting brand trust, as well as awareness of Getty’s vast array of exhibitions, programs, and opportunities. We offer tailored hands-on art experiences, curated to each community and festival theme.

Getty 25 Community Art Festivals

In partnership with Community Arts Resources and organizations across LA County, these ten free weekend festivals celebrated the Getty Center’s 25th anniversary. Each festival featured curated experiences reflective of that region, including interactive workshops, live music and performances, an artisan marketplace, food trucks, giveaways, photo booths, and more.

CARE FIRST Campaign

Joining the Cause Communications Team as a Creative Strategist, we produce and direct the Los Angeles County Department of Youth Development’s CARE FIRST campaign components including community engagements, special projects and events, social media, and team management highlighting the power of prevention over punishment, emphasizing that youth development contributes to safer communities, healthier families, and stronger futures.

LA: In Dialogue

A community engagement initiative inspired by “In Dialogue: Carrie Mae Weems and Dawoud Bey” at the Getty Museum, in partnership with Black Image Center, LA Commons (Leimert Park & Florence Graham), Inner-City Arts, and Venice Arts. The project included hands-on community workshops for 54 multi-generational artists, an exhibition at Band of Vices gallery, a documentary video, and a commemorative publication.

Strategic Visioning Project

Unique among museum fundraisers, guests are encouraged to trust their instincts to select from over 500 works of art. Each artwork is the same size and sold for the same price, no matter how well-known the artist is. All artists remain anonymous, and their identities are revealed only after purchase.
